Established on 20 December 1962, TİSK is the sole umbrella organization authorized to represent Turkish employers in industrial relations nationally and internationally. Having been the shared voice of enterprises for the last 62 years, our Confederation aims to generate macro-level solutions in fields of activity where the member employer associations are represented.
With its headquarters located in Ankara, TİSK embodies 21 member employer associations operating in various industrial and economic sectors including public services.
Production, industrial relations, competitiveness, productivity, registered employment, collective labour agreements, foreign trade zones constitute TİSK’s main topics of focus and activity.
2 million people are employed in approximately 10.000 workplaces registered under member associations.
1961
The primary foundations of the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations were laid in a meeting of 6 leading employer unions of the young Republic of Turkey in Istanbul.
Through the collaboration of these institutions, “Istanbul Employer Unions Association“ was founded.
1962
Thanks to the fast and comprehensive organizational effort by employers nationwide, the title of the association was changed to “Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations” by resolution of the General Board at the 2nd Ordinary General Meeting held on 20 December 1962. To this date, TİSK remains to be the sole confederation representing employers in the country.
In Turkey, the foundations of contemporary relations between workers and employers were laid by the 1962 Constitution which granted the workers and employers the rights to establish unions, sign collective labour agreements, conduct strikes and lockouts.
